Tutankhamun-His Tomb and His TreasuresEdit
Something particularly awesome is happening this January. A little bit of Ancient Egypt is currently playing to packed houses at the Museum of Museums at the Trafford Centre in Manchester. On the 27th Terry Deary will be joining a number of celebrity guests at a special event to raise funds for Manchester Museum’s Ancient Worlds initiative, which looks after artifacts from the Ancient Worlds. Terry will be signing his blood-curdling Egyptian titles including Awesome Egyptians, Awful Egyptians and Gory Stories: Tomb of Treasure.
Jorvik Viking Festival 2011Edit
Everyone knows February is a gloomy month. All the leftover Christmas chocolates have been eaten up, and summer is still months away. But this February, something exciting is happening: Terry Deary, author of the blood-curdlingly brilliant Horrible Histories books, is coming to York’s Jorvik Viking Centre. He’ll be hosting a special event, Teatime Terrors with Terry Deary on Tuesday 22 February at 16.00-18.00 as part of the Jorvik Viking Festival 2011. Terry will tell you about some grisly characters who have darkened York’s history through the ages. You’ll be able to ask questions and get your Horrible Histories books signed – and as it’s teatime you’ll even get something to eat and drink.
